Greek Tilapia...Southern Fried Broccoli...Having to Have...

Kairos Greek Tilapia

What’s up guys,

It has been an incredible week around Kairos! I know that in my newsletters I always talk about things going on around the Kafe, but the Katering side of Kairos is also one of my favorite things to do! Bringing delicious goodness to you, wherever you are! Denise has actually been traveling regularly all the way to Tuscaloosa because we have a guy that needs food for his meetings that is a huge Kairos Fan! I love those kinds of folks! And there is no better way to get people to listen to your presentations than with good food. Building Relationships Around Food... one group at a time! Call Denise at 205-410-3220 or e-mail Denise@KairosKatering.com the next time you need some delicious goodness in your home or office... or wherever you may be!

I had the privilege this week of overhearing a guests comment as he was checking out at the register. He said that he was just driving by, didn’t know a thing about Kairos, but needed a quick lunch so he stopped in. He was very pleased. He began to passionately describe his lunch as “... the best lunch I’ve ever had! The Chicken was so tender! The sauce was perfect! The light breading on the Fried Broccoli was incredible, and the spinach was cooked to perfection!” I was awed at his passion for my food, and it was the most genuine compliment I’ve ever received. I Love hearing stuff like that. It makes me know I’m doing what I’m supposed to do. This week, besides the Chicken Piccatta, Southern Fried Broccoli, and Sautéed Spinach that this visitor was raving about, I’m doing the Greek Style Tilapia. I love this dish because it not only tastes like it’s out of this world, it’s also good for you. When I take it out of the oven I get the smells of fresh marinated Tilapia interspersed in with the stimulating aromas of the vinaigrette and the awesome goodness of feta cheese that has been baked. Surely this must be what it tastes like in Greece! Ya’ll come see me this week! I want to cook for you! I’ve also started a “Chef James K Jones” Facebook page that I will be using to sneak peeks at our upcoming cookbook “Love, Sara” and also give you recipes and ideas for things you can do at home to build relationships around great food! Check it out at http://www.facebook.com/ChefJameskjones

These last few weeks have been a whirlwind for me personally. Actually the last few months have been incredible as I have learned more and more about this beautiful Miss that Jesus has brought into my life, who in a very short time will be Mrs. James K Jones. It is hard to describe the joyful anticipation that is occurring in both of us, and from day one I saw clearly that her entrance into my life was a pure gift from Jesus. For me this has been huge. In trying to explain it to a friend the other day its as if I went through these seasons in my life where I “Had to Have” a relationship, and I held onto what I wanted, or what I “Had to Have” with a very tight grip.  I was gonna have it! But “having to have” it made me miserable. After I gave all that up then “Boom!” Jesus sends me what HE wants me to have and it is perfect. Not perfect in the sense that you think, but absolutely 100% perfect for me! I think that Jesus wants me to simply “Have” to “Have” Him... and if I do that then He gives me everything. It’s Weird. Mysterious. Cool. Interesting. Thought-Provoking. Exciting. Fascinating. What if I looked at everything in my life that way? What would my life look like?

I can look back over the path of my years following Him and see that He has taught me that in many areas. Now I’m so excited because I want to learn how to live my whole life that way! With everything! Love doesn’t hold with a tight grip that which already belongs to it... Jesus is teaching me through all this that He wants me to see everything in my life as a gift...pure...unadulterated gift... then instead of clenching my hands trying to hold onto what I want or what I think I need to have... I can simply keep my hands open to Him and when I do that He fills them with the greatest gifts. It blows my mind. May we all be encouraged this week to see His gifts in our lives, and thank Him for them.

God Bless You Guys! Thank you for your support of Kairos! Have an incredible week!

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above...it comes down from the Father of all that gives light. (The Apostle James)
