Sante Fe Chicken...Potato Dumplings...Fighting the Good Fight

What’s Up Guys,

It has been an incredibly tough week at Kairos, but at the same time it has been very rewarding as I keep myself busy coming up with new recipes for the Kountry Buffet. My Granny would be proud. This week I came up with a recipe for Pickled Squash (which came out awesome), Greek Cole Slaw that has a little bit of Feta cheese in it, Potato Dumplings, and a new Tuna Kasserole recipe that I’m going to try out this week! I hope you guys will come and see me. Remember we are Closed Labor Day Weekend (Saturday, Sunday, and Monday) We will see you Tuesday September the 4th!

Well, I am on the last week now of my “40 days of Resolutions”. I would love to tell you guys that the past 30 plus days have been all rainbows and butterflies, but that hasn’t been the case. It’s actually been the opposite. I’m determined to stick it out though! Thank you guys for all your encouragement!

“Remember those early days after you first saw the light? Those were the hard times! Kicked around in public, targets of every kind of abuse—some days it was you, other days your friends. If some friends went to prison, you stuck by them. If some enemies broke in and seized your goods, you let them go with a smile, knowing they couldn't touch your real treasure. Nothing they did bothered you, nothing set you back. So don't throw it all away now. You were sure of yourselves then. It's still a sure thing! But you need to stick it out, staying with God's plan so you'll be there for the promised completion.

   It won't be long now, he's on the way;
      he'll show up most any minute.
   But anyone who is right with me thrives on loyal trust;
      if he cuts and runs, I won't be very happy.
But we're not quitters who lose out. Oh, no! We'll stay with it and survive, trusting all the way. (Hebrews 10:32-39 The Message)

40 days of resolutions. Day #29- I will not fuss, quarrel, or make wars. I will use everything in me and all of my influence to be a man of Peace.

40 days of resolutions. Day #30- I will not hold Grudges. Against others. Against myself. Against Jesus. Against the circumstances of life.

40 days of resolutions. Day #31- I will talk to people when I am going through stuff. If I can't reason things out, or if I pray and can't get any clear answers from Jesus I will ask someone that I Trust to help me process the situation. I won't put my faith in people but I will ask them to be a part of the process.

One who isolates himself pursues [selfish] desires; he rebels against all sound judgment. (Proverbs 18:1 HCSB)

40 days of resolutions. Day #32- I will not allow the opinion of others to control me. I cannot be who other people want me to be and I cannot do what other people do. Jesus created me to be me.

40 days of resolutions. Day #33- I will talk to Jesus about the needs of others more than my own needs.

[Let your] love be sincere (a real thing)... Love one another with brotherly affection [as members of one family], giving precedence and showing honor to one another. (Romans 12:9, 10 AMP)

40 days of resolutions. Day #34- I won't be ruled by my emotions. When I'm feeling depressed or down I will not do what I feel like doing (Which is usually hiding under the covers) I'll do what needs to be done, and grab hold of the day!

Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; let Your good Spirit lead me into a level country and into the land of uprightness. (Psalm 143:10 AMP)

40 days of resolutions. Day # 35- I will be Free from having to know everything, or having all the answers. It will be okay to say "I don't know."

God Bless you guys! Have an awesome week!

James K Jones
