Sweet Heat Salmon...Cheeseburger Baked Ziti...Old School 33 A.D. Stuff...

Sweet Lenny's Chicken Tenderloins with Sweet Chili Sauce

What's up Guys!

It has been one rough week but it’s all good. We had our first wave of inspections for the new Kairos in Gardendale and they were anything but pleasant. The Good news though is that we made it through and we have our finals coming up this week and then it’s on to training staff and getting ready for the big day! I would appreciate your thoughts and prayers for all of us this week as we prepare for the transition. It’s gonna be incredible, but we have tons of details to work out. We will also be gathering together a brand new staff so if you know of anyone interested in working at The Gardendale location shoot me an e-mail or call Denise at 205-410-3220.

The Specials this week are an exciting offering of delicious goodness. The Fish is one of my favorites, Grilled Salmon with my buffalo-honeymustard glaze. I love this one because it has just the right amount of heat from the cayenne pepper, without being too hot, and it is balanced with the tangy sweetness of my made from scratch Honeymustard. There is just a little heat with a little bit of sweet. Good Stuff. The Pasta is Cheeseburger Baked Ziti, a comforting blend of ground beef with our cheesesauce, mozzarella, parmesan, cheddar, and hash-browns all baked into a mouthwatering dish that has all the classic flavors of a juicy cheeseburger. My mouth is watering as I write this. The Kasserole is The Woodard Kasserole, another Favorite that is a blend of Rice with juicy chicken breast, sautéed mushrooms, and broccoli in a creamy sauce that will make your taste-buds smile. Finish it off with our delectable Apple Kobbler topped with homemade whipped cream. That’s some good eating right there! Also take advantage of the Coupon this week, buy three ten dollar gift certificates and get one free. I hope to see you guys this week in the Kafe!

I want you guys to know that I really enjoy sitting down each week and sharing my passions with you. For one, I love to write because it is the most natural way for me to be able to communicate my heart, and my passion has always been food and everything that goes along with creating things that make people happy in the culinary arena. But perhaps the most special part of this weekly time with you guys is being able to share what Jesus is doing in my life, and the lessons I am learning on my journey. I also enjoy it when I receive countless e-mails, comments, and responses to my weekly thoughts.

Tonight as I write you I have some thoughts about ways that we could take that to a deeper level. As we prepare to open the new Kairos in Gardendale we are also considering doing a Grace & Truth “connecting point” for the Gardendale/North of town area on Sunday evenings. I have recently moved into the community and I absolutely love it.

Here are my thoughts. We wouldn’t do anything preachy or even churchy. Not that I have a problem with Preachers or Church, but that’s not what I’m talking about doing. I love my Pastor and I am always encouraged and challenged by his sermons. I just believe that Jesus has put it on my heart to do something different. Something Simple and Refreshing and Relaxing and Laid-Back. Not even a Bible Study. All those things are important, and vital, but what if we did something like this on Sunday Evenings: Have a time of Worship, and then a time of sharing what Jesus is doing in our lives. And not just one person sharing. Kind of like an open mic night, but Jesus Style. Old School 33 A.D. kind of stuff. How encouraging would that be not only to be able to hear about the ways that God is working His plan in others lives, but to also be able to pray with each other, carry each others burdens, and build new relationships around Jesus?

We begin our service each Sunday at Grace & Truth in the same way. My Pastor believes that it is just as important to hear from other folks as it is to hear from him. And I agree with him. God is working all of the time in all of His people. Not just in Preachers and Teachers and Word-Givers. I learn a lot from them. I appreciate them. But I have to be honest. I get really inspired and fired up when I hear about His work in anybody! It’s an incredible thing.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I am not a Pastor and I don’t have any desire to be one, but I am very excited about the possibility of starting a connecting point for anyone and everyone who would like to participate. I’d love to hear your thoughts about it. Thank you guys so much for supporting Kairos. God Bless You, and have a wonderful week!
