Poppyseed Chicken Kasserole...Black Bean Soup...Meet Denise...

Momma's Cheesy Chicken Baked Ziti

What's Up Guys,

My name is Denise Nolen and I’m the new Director of Katering and Special Events for Kairos Kafe.  James has gone out of town to be with his Granny and asked me to write the newsletter.  I have some big shoes to fill, so bear with me! As you all know, we have a little project we’re working on in the Northern part of town – it’s called Kairos Kafe/Gardendale.  We are very happy that everyone is anxiously awaiting our opening.  Please be patient with us for a little bit longer while we resolve [hopefully] our last hurdle before we open.  In the meantime, we would love to see all of you at our Downtown location!  Last, but certainly not least ...let Kairos Kater your next luncheon, corporate function, wedding reception, rehearsal dinner....you get the idea.  We provide full service katering for groups of all sizes!  Call me at 205.410.3220 or email denise@kairoskatering.com.

This week’s specials are making my mouth water as I’m typing.  The fish selection is Salmon - grilled to perfection and glazed with buffalo-honeymustard.  It provides just the right amount of heat with the tangy sweetness of JJ’s own Honeymustard.  The Pasta is my personal favorite, Momma’s Cheesy Chicken Baked Ziti!  Imagine ziti pasta, tender pieces of grilled chicken tenderloins...all smothered in a creamy cheese sauce and baked to absolute perfection (that’s what I’m talkin bout).  Our Kasserole is Granny's Poppyseed Chicken Kasserole (also one of my favorites). Tender chunks of grilled chicken in a delightfully creamy poppyseed sauce, sprinkled with a crunchy topping and baked until it’s bubbly.  Make sure you save room for dessert – warm Kairos Peach Kobbler topped with our homemade whipped topping....mmm mmm mmmmmmm!  Take advantage of this week’s coupon – a FREE beverage.  I bet you guys can’t wait until Monday gets here, can you?

I have to say I was really honored that James asked me to write this week’s newsletter.  I know this is something that he holds dear and looks forward to sharing with you each week.  As I was sitting here about to start, I took a minute to ask God to inspire me with the words he wanted me to write.  One word came to mind – THANKFUL!  I sat alone in the new Gardendale restaurant this morning waiting to meet with a client about catering.  As I sat there looking around I imagined a wonderfully happy place where people laughed and were having a great dining experience.  I could almost smell the aromas of all the food being prepared and served with a smile.  I found myself with a grin on my face that would rival the Cheshire Cat!  Again, the word “THANKFUL” came to mind. I am so thankful to be a part of this growing business that sprouted from a dream and a seed of faith. More than that, I’m thankful to be part of the Kairos Family. “Building relationships around food” is the motto at Kairos Kafe.  Those aren’t just words – that’s the way we all believe.
Psalms 138:1 – Thank you! Everything in me says “Thank you!” Angels listen as I sing my thanks. [MSG]
