Chocolate-Chocolate Cake with Raspberry Coulis (and a huge question) |
What’s up guys,
The Kairos Valentine’s Dinner was a huge success! Thank you
to all of you who shared your special day with us! The Photographer, Brian
Batista, did an incredible job, as did Lenny Madden with his live acoustic
music that set the atmosphere for a very special “Kairos” Evening. If you would
like to take a look at all the pics then Brian has them up on his website http://www.brimanphoto.com/kairosvalentine
Let us know what you think! My hat is also off to Denise
Nolen, our Special Events Director, who went above and beyond the call to make
this a very extraordinary event! Check out her new Facebook page dedicated to
all of our Special Events http://www.facebook.com/KairosSpecialEvents If you know
anyone getting married or in need of a Full Service Katerer then we would love
for to be your source! I have also launched a new Facebook Page dedicated to
sharing recipes, ideas, and food fun. Check it out http://www.facebook.com/ChefJameskjones My first
cookbook “Love, Sara” will be coming out very soon and the plan is to use this
page to offer some sneak peeks and gathering ideas from you guys. We are very
excited about all that we have going on around Kairos and we look forward to
2013 with joyful anticipation of building relationships around food with you guys!
The Specials this week are mouth-watering and full of
delicious goodness! The Fish Tacos are becoming my favorite go-to lunch,
especially when I am in a hurry and want something that’s good for me. The Fish
this week is Strawberry-Honey Glazed grilled Salmon, which has been hailed by
many of you as the best of the best! The Pimento Cheeseburger continues it’s
epic rise to fame, and in my humble opinion is the best burger I have ever
eaten! And I have eaten a lot of burgers in my time! The D.G. Express this week
will feature a new soup recipe, Golden Potato Bacon, which is out of this
world. White Chicken Chili, which I have recently discovered, will not
disappoint, along with Comforting Kasseroles, Hearty Baked Ziti’s, Fresh
Veggies like Braised Cabbage, Collard Greens, Creamed Corn, and our daily fresh
from the oven Kobbler selection. Delicious Goodness is in the air at Kairos
Kafe! Ya’ll Come Eat!
This Valentine’s was our 7th Valentine’s Dinner
at Kairos Kafe. I don’t too much get into numbers and all that stuff (I am more
of a words man) but I have always been told that the number seven is a significant
number. That being said you would expect our 7th Valentine’s Dinner
to be extra special. Those of you who attended already know that it was very
special to me and to My Miss. After weeks of plotting and planning with all my
peeps and with Miss Haley Ann Hobart’s Family I was able to surprise her with a
question. “Will you Marry Me?” She said Yes!! Hahaha. In keeping with our
mission statement “Building Relationships Around Food” I popped the question as
her dessert was served, with most of her family and friends, and most of my
family and friends, present. After our second date I had an unusual desire to
visit Taco Bell. I am not a big fan, but this night I was just craving it. When
I got home there were the obligatory hot sauce packets. I picked one up to use
and it said “Will You Marry Me” on the wrapper. It was odd because I was just
getting to know Haley, but for some reason that little hot sauce packet touched
me and I hung onto it. Last week I found it and I placed it on the plate with
her Chocolate-Chocolate Cake with Raspberry Coulis. I didn’t stop there though.
I promise I am not that lame J
I got down on one knee and asked her all right and proper “Miss. Will You Be My
Missus?” My Granny would be proud. And for both of us, we recognize this not
only as a “Kairos” Moment, but a “Jeremiah 29:11” Moment. Jesus always has the
Master Plan for our lives. Always. We don’t always see it. We don’t always understand
it. But He is always working out every little detail in our lives to bring
about something beautiful and something that is the design of His Plan and His purposes.
I am Thankful.
And to answer a question posed to me by my friend Tim Busbee
after we closed the Gardendale Kairos... “Would Jesus cause you to go open a
business and lose a million dollars just so you can find the woman of your
dreams?” Yes. Maybe he would bro!
This guy is looking forward to the future with joyful
anticipation.
God Bless You! Thank You for supporting Kairos! Have a
wonderful week!

P.S. Special Thanks to Jeff Dennis from Jeff Dennis Jewelers
in Gardendale. He helped us make this night very special with the perfect ring
that he actually made especially for Haley. The Favor of Jesus worked through
him to us, and we are blessed that he played such a neat role. Go check him
out! http://www.facebook.com/JeffDennisJewelers
