What’s up Kairos Fans,
It has been a great week here at Kairos Kafe! I have an update for all of you Gardendale fans… we finally passed our preliminary inspections with The Health Department, and we have been approved to move forward with our plans! We still have a bit to do, but this is a major hurdle that we have overcome! We are getting ready for you, and we hope you are getting ready for us!
The Special this week is the Chicken Divan… scrumptious tenderloins in a mouthwatering sauce with broccoli, mozzarella, and parmesan all baked into delicious goodness. The Soups are Cream of Potato and Kairos Chicken Noodle. The Fish is fresh Salmon grilled with a strawberry-honey glaze, and the Veggie is Broccoli Kasserole. The Peanut Butter Kobbler continues to be a mysterious culinary delight, so that will be the dessert. The Kwick-Hitter Menu features one of the first out of the ordinary ziti recipes that I came up with, BBQ Chicken Baked Ziti, and yes, it is as good as it sounds because it is filled with delicious goodness, BBQ Sauce, Cheddar, Bacon, and a few other things. New on the menu this week is “The Texas Stack” … it’s a delicious gathering of soft flour tortillas with black beans, tender grilled chicken, cheddar, mozzarella, tomatoes, and spicy chilies in a creamy sauce…Mmm this one is sure to please!
This past weekend Kairos was invited to provide the food for a Kairos Prison Ministry Weekend down in Elmore, Alabama at Draper Correctional Facility. It was an interesting thing for me… Kairos catering a Kairos! Imagine that!
It was a great weekend for me, and above all it was an answer to a prayer that I have had for a long time that was really a “secret desire and petition of my heart”. Many years ago I was sitting right there in the same place that those guys were sitting…
I remember that it was a very special time for me because someone was somewhere making food for us to eat … I am hoping that it was extra special for these guys because it was prepared by someone who was once in their shoes, and someone who has gone on to prove that Jesus is Faithful and that He will make something wonderful out of out lives if we will let Him…
This week my only real reflection is this: God is Faithful.
God Bless You! Thank you for supporting Kairos, and have a wonderful week!
James K Jones
