Tomato Basil Soup…Sautéed Broccoli… a rest from Stress

What’s up Kairos Fans,

Thank you guys for another great week at Kairos! I have really enjoyed the Kairos Kafe Facebook page, and it has been a great way to connect with you guys and share things about what’s going on around here. Recently, we Katered a Wedding Reception for Will and Faith Flowers and during the planning process he told me all about “Twitter” and even set up a Twitter account for Kairos. At first I didn’t know what to “Tweet” but after I got the hang of it I have been having a great time. This past week I started “tweeting” links of food pictures… every day this week whatever I put on there went out to the dining room in mass amounts. It was really neat. If you are a twitter person follow Kairos Kafe to keep up with all the latest tweets!

The Special this week is the Pimento Cheeseburger… a taste sensation that seems to be getting everyone’s attention. The Fish is fresh grilled Atlantic Salmon with an awesome honeymustard glaze that really takes the flavor of grilled salmon to another level! The soups are Tomato Basil (made from scratch…and full of delicious goodness) and Chicken Noodle (My version of the classic with a Kairos twist). The Veggie is Sautéed Broccoli and the dessert is our newest Kairos Kreation: Pineapple Kobbler. It is so good that I had it almost everyday last week. The Kwick Hitter Menu includes Granny’s Poppyseed Chicken Kasserole and “The Woodard” Kasserole that’s filled with creamy mushroom sauce, broccoli, rice and chunks of tender chicken… I could eat this casserole everyday. I can’t wait to see you guys this week for Lunch!

This week has been an up and down kind of week. I feel like we are at a pivotal point with the business, opening a new Kairos in Gardendale and going through the process that usually seems to take longer than I had anticipated. The obstacles loom ahead and sometimes I feel more than a little overwhelmed. I am also facing a lot of changes in my personal life as well so that just adds stress upon stress.

Its funny to me that if you ask me I would say that I am a person who loves change, especially when its in a positive flow. And that statement would be true. I do love the results of change…but I find myself despising the process.
Most of the time I want to skip the process and embrace the results. Wouldn’t it be so much easier that way?

But then I am reminded of all the things that I have gone through over the past fifteen years, and how God not only always delivers me, but that in the end it is always good for me. Everything that I face in life, every obstacle, every hard decision, every pivotal point is being worked together into the Good Plan that God has for my life. “They are plans for good and not for disaster” (Jeremiah 29:11 NLT)

I have to continually remind myself of this fact, and even though I am not in control and most of the time I don’t know what’s next, it always comes out great… so why stress over it? I read an interesting article today that had this quote in it:

“Discern your point of stress, and apply faith and trust in Me ... Stress comes when you lack understanding and need wisdom. Ask for what you need, and I will give it. Refuse to be afraid of failure, for I will lead you through even the most difficult maze to attain your goal. But, you must rely on Me for guidance and direction. Do not fall back on trusting yourself or your own good ideas. Seek Me instead.” Marsha Burns

May we all be a people who will trade our stress for His rest. God Bless You. Thank you for supporting Kairos, and have a wonderful week!
