What’s up Kairos Fans,
This week I had the opportunity to tape some cooking demos at Fox 6. I showed all the folks how to make Kairos Pimento cheese and our “made from scratch” pickles that grace all of our burgers and sandwiches. I always have a blast cooking with Janice Rogers and I told her that if I ever have a cooking show on TV I want her to be on it with me!
The Special this week is another spin on our handmade burgers. We are calling it the Buffalo Blue Cheese Burger and you will love it if you have tastebuds that yearn for spicier foods! I had one yesterday and it was really awesome. I had at first thought that it would be too reminiscent of chicken wings, but after I bit into the first juicy bite and tasted the delicious goodness of the ground angus chuck I realized that this burger would stand on its own. It’s smothered in our hot and spicy buffalo sauce and crowned with blue cheese crumbles and grilled red onions. I think this one is a keeper, and I look forward to hearing your feedback! The Fish is an all time Kairos favorite: Fresh “Greek Style” Tilapia that is smothered in a light vinaigrette with feta cheese and green onions. As this dish is baking in the oven it always smells like the most delicious thing ever made and it always makes my mouth water. I hope you enjoy it! The Veggie is Broccoli Kasserole, by request from one of you guys and the dessert is our Luscious Lemon Cupcakes or one of our newest transitions into the land of cupcakes: Strawberry “Tall” Cupcakes. This week I have spent a lot of time reflecting on the things I have learned over the past 15 years. It is so neat to go back and relearn the things that I once learned but some how lost perspective of… I want to share with you guys something I wrote a long time ago. I was in a place where I was frustrated and not quite sure what to do with it… when I faced situations like this I learned that for me it was helpful to sit down and write… I learned to even write my prayers and conversations with God. This really helped me get it in perspective this week. I hope it will be a blessing to you!
...I am frustrated....I get so frustrated with myself, with other people, with situations in my life....and I just want to scream!
What is Grace? I've heard about it all my life...
Is it the forgiveness of sins? Or something greater? Is it a feeling?
What do I have to do to get it? How do I keep it once I get it?
But He gives us more and more grace (power of the Holy Spirit, to meet this evil tendency and all others fully). That is why He says, God sets Himself against the proud and haughty, but gives grace [continually] to the lowly (those who are humble enough to receive it) James 4:6 (Amplified Bible)
Grace is Power...Wow! I want that in my life!
I had a conversation about it with God. This was His answer to me:
"Frustration, frustration, frustration... it's not by might, nor by power, but it is by My Spirit that you will overcome every obstacle. Grace, Grace, speak Grace to the mountains!"
God, cover me with Grace, with the power of Your Holy Spirit!
But How? How do I receive this Grace?
"By Faith! Faith opens the door for My Power to come to you to meet whatever the need is for your situation… Grace, Grace, undeserved, can't be bought, not by pleading, not by reasoning, not by worrying, but by a child-like simple Faith. Gentle Trust will soothe the troubled waters. Only You must come to the well and drink. It's here! Come! Come unto Me. I won't make you come..."
What is this Grace, Lord?
"It is the treasuries of Heaven opened up to you, the door which opens it is your Faith. Your Faith opens the door for me to give you what I want you to have...My Wisdom, Power, and Strength. It's in You."
"Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and the door will be opened to you. Only ask in Faith, doubting nothing, believe that I'm able, believe I'm giving you what you need to overcome. Believe that you receive when you pray and you will have what you've prayed for. It's not hard. Actually it's very simple, but My People get caught up in working for it. There is no Grace when you try to get it by works. You'll never receive. You'll stay frustrated."
"Learn to leave stuff alone and the answer will come. Frustration comes when you're trying to do it yourself!"
"My Spirit is Love, Joy, and Peace. When you get over into the area of Guilt, Condemnation, and Fear know that you're not receiving My Grace. Come and ask for help. I'm telling you again, as I've told you before, trust in my Love for You. I'm not leaving You. I've got a plan for your life and I'll keep on working with you until you are able to carry it out. By My Grace, you see, is how it will be done, so don't try to worry or scheme. I'll take you further, Son, than you ever dreamed possible, but it will never work if you don't trust me to do it all! Don't worry, you'll learn how to operate in it. Relax. Don't lose courage. Don't faint. Don't quit."
