What's up Kairos Fans,
This has been an awesome week here at Kairos Kafe! I have saw so many new faces this week, and that always warms my heart. I find it hard to believe that we are at the end of January already! This month has just flew by...
The end of January always signals that we need to make our plans for Valentine's, so I have attached our 2011 Valentine's Menu, and the details will also be at the end of this e-mail. I would love for you to join us for an awesome evening!
The Special this week will be BBQ Chicken Baked Ziti...I love this recipe that has all the delicious flavors of BBQ Chicken combined with the comfort of a baked pasta dish...The tender juicy pieces of grilled chicken smothered in creamy BBQ sauce with Cheddar Cheese and a little bacon make it a hard dish to resist...
The Greek Style Tilapia has been such a hit that I am running it again as the Fish Special this week. I have had so many positive comments about it that it makes me wonder if we should add it to the Lunch Menu so you guys can have it all the time...
The Veggie is something that I have been playing with all week in my brain: Southern Fried Broccoli! We have such a huge outpouring of love for our Fried Green Tomatoes and Onion Strings, so why not attach some of that delicious goodness to Broccoli? I can't wait for you to try it!
The Soup is white bean chicken chili, another favorite that I haven't prepared in while that I am sure will hit the spot even if the weather warms up a bit next week. The Dessert Special is Butterfinger Cupcakes...one of my favorite recipes! They actually have butterfinger on the inside and the outside, so if you are a butterfinger fan then you will love these cupcakes!
This weekend I am heading over to Atlanta to spend a few days with my Grandmother. I'm sure we will spend some time in the kitchen coming up with some new recipes. I actually want her to teach me how to make her Chicken & Dumplings because I have never made them...and wouldn't even know where to start...
When I was a kid I hated Chicken & Dumplings and I was not at all interested in eating them, so my Granny always made me a small pot of egg noodles with a creamy chicken sauce over them... I absolutely loved those noodles, and they were extra special to me because she made them just for me...
When you love someone, you make adjustments... Why? Because its not all about you. My Granny could've gotten mad that I didn't like her dumplings, or she could have forced me to eat them anyways...or she could've told me to be hungry...but she didn't because she loved me... my well being was more important to her than her own...and that is an awesome thing!
As we prepare to open another Kairos Kafe it strikes me how different my own attitude is from what it was when we opened this Kairos... Over the years I have learned that its not all about me, or my ideas, or even my recipes...my job is to give you guys what it is that you want in a Cafe and Catering business, and I thank you for the opportunity to serve you in that manner.
