In 2006 we opened the doors of Kairos Kafe and Kairos Katering... this was the fulfillment of a lifelong dream for me, and over the past few years I have learned alot about life, leadership, and following Jesus from my heart. I would love to share some of those lessons and struggles, as well as Recipes and other things we have all learned on this journey that we call Building Relationships Around Food...

White Bean Soup...Cheesy Chicken Baked Zit...and a lesson from my GPS.
What's up Kairos Fans,
The cool weather seems to be here to stay, and that makes me a very happy guy! This is my favorite time of the year to be in the kitchen coming up with new and delicious recipes.
The Soup this week is one of those, a hearty white bean soup with sausage that is sure to warm you and your tastebuds right up!
The Special is Momma's Cheesy Chicken Baked Ziti and it has actually become our top seller on the Katering Menu. I love this recipe, and it makes me excited because I came up with it myself one day just messing around in the kitchen.
The Fish is Fresh Atlantic Salmon that is grilled to perfection and then glazed with a Honeymustard and Cayenne Glaze. I love this one because the glaze gives the fish an interesting flavor that I like to call a "sweet-heat".
The Veggie is a recipe I've been tweaking a bit... it starts with mixed veggies baked in a savory cream sauce and then topped with a crunchy cheese crust. I hope you will let me know what you think!
This past weekend I went over to Atlanta to spend the day with my Grandmother and to go to the Farmer's Market. I had a great time while I was there surrounded by all the sights and smells of exotic spices, fresh fruits and veggies, and the people who are from everywhere in the world. If you are ever in that area The Dekalb County Farmer's Market is definitely an awesome experience.
While I was traveling from Ackworth (where my Granny lives) to Decatur, I was using my GPS to guide me where I needed to go... just driving along without a care in the world enjoying the trip...then I had an interesting thought ...
When I'm on a trip and I have a GPS I don't ever worry that I will get lost or not get to my destination. Why? Because the GPS will keep me on the right path if I follow its directions. And even if I miss a turn, the GPS will either tell me to make a U-Turn or it will readjust my route so that I still get to where I am going even though I made a mistake.
A few summers ago I actually went all up and down the Eastern Seaboard and never got lost once because I was using the GPS.
I have been trying how to learn how to Trust God with everything in my life, and it has made me realize just how much I don't trust Him with because there are some things I don't want to give up control of...
As I was driving, I realized that when I really give up control, relax, and allow God to be who He says He is, then my life is like that trip... not worrying about where I'm going or the path it's gonna take to get there, or trying to reason, worry, and figure out everything... just simply enjoying the trip because I know that God has my back.
It actually seemed like a breath of fresh air to me!
May we all be a people who will learn to trust God to be our ultimate guide.
Thank you for supporting Kairos! God Bless You and have a wonderful week!
