Pepperoni Baked Ziti...J.J.'s Banana's...and a new group in the Downtown Area...

What's up guys,

October has been a wonderful month for us with Wedding Katering. We actually had more than we had in June, which is interesting to me because most folks think you're supposed to get married in June. When we do a Summer wedding I always feel sorry for the Groom and all his fellas because their suits look so uncomfortable in the heat...When I get married it will definitely be in the Fall or the Winter.

Tomorrow we are doing our last one of the year and it will be on the roof of a beautiful building in downtown Birmingham. I will post some pics on my Facebook and Blog Page.

This week I came up with a new Ziti recipe that will be the special. It is Pepperoni Baked Ziti and it tastes like a pizza, but it's not, it's a pasta dish! It is layered with Pepperoni, Mozzarella, Ricotta, and a fresh tomato sauce with toasted fennel. I got rave reviews at our Wednesday night Grace & Truth Dinner. I hope you will enjoy it!

The Fish is fresh grilled Tilapia with a lemon butter sauce, capers, and sundried tomatoes. The Soup is our near famous Cream of Potato, the Veggie is fried Onion Strings, and the Dessert is a new one that I can't wait for you to try!

I'm calling it J.J.'s Banana's because it was inspired by my former employer, Tony Falletta, who created Leonardo's Famous Tony's Banana's!

If you are familiar with Banana's Foster it is a take on that, but in Kairos Style. The banana's are cooked in a rich syrup and then covered in a Kobbler-like crust. We will serve it to you warm with a dollop of whipped cream. I absolutely love them, and I hope you will too!

As many of you know I am very passionate about food and building relationships around food. I better be, since that is what I do for a living. One of my other passions is learning and allowing God to transform my life into something good and beautiful. To me, that is the greatest miracle of all and I am so grateful for the work that God has, and is, doing in my life.

When I came to Jesus, the best that I could hope for was some forgiveness. The amazing thing that happened was that I found out He not only wanted me to be forgiven, He wanted to make something significant out of my life. That still blows my hair back when I think about it because my life was an absolute train-wreck!

The other thing that really excites me is when I get to watch transformation take place in the lives of others. It is a beautiful thing and I love to be a part of that when God allows me to...

One thing I have learned over the years is that when I stop learning then my life stops transforming. John Maxwell puts it this way: He says that Leaders are Learners, and if I ever stop learning then my Leadership will show that. I want to always remain open and teachable because it just continually gives life a fresh perspective.

I am honored to announce a new Ladies Bible Study being organized for the "downtown area" in The Media Center of Grace & Truth (opposite side of the building from Kairos Kafe). The Group will meet over Lunch on Tuesdays and Lunch will be Katered by Kairos Kafe. There is no better way to learn than when you are buliding relationships around food!

This won't begin until January but the ladies organizing it are having an initial meeting at Kairos Kafe on Tuesday November 9th at 11:30. The Lunch is free but there is a catch. You must RSVP so the ladies will have enough food.

Please contact Patti Boomershine (205) 558-2206,
or go to www.canterburyumc/sacredechofor more information.

I have known Patti for about 5 years and she is one of my favorite people. She was actually one of my first customers and has been a Kairos follower ever since. She is both excited and humbled at this opportunity and it makes me proud that she chose Kairos and Grace & Truth as the place to host her Bible Study.

May we all be a people who remain open and teachable to all that God has for us!

Thank You for supporting Kairos. God Bless You and have a wonderful week!

James K Jones
