What's up guys,
This wednesday I did a cooking segment on Fox 6. I decided to make the Kairos Cheesesteaks that we ran on special a few weeks ago. When I go on T.V. I have always tried to make something that the folks can make at home instead of trying to impress them with my culinary skills. That's the whole point of doing it anyways. Unfortunately, I had several people come in asking for the cheesesteaks this week and I didn't have them running on Special. I apologize, and they will be on Special this week, so come on in and get one.
If you would like that recipe, or if you would just like to watch me making it, click on the link below.

I am excited about the Fish this week! It is fresh Atlantic Salmon, grilled to perfection, and topped with a Mango Salsa. I will be spending some time this weekend at The Dekalb County Farmer's Market and I know I will come back with all sorts of new ideas...I am having fun coming up with new and delicious things to grace the fish, and I hope you will thoroughly enjoy this one!
I have had alot of requests for our Pumpkin Soup, but I am always hesitant to make it when the weather is warm, but now that we are cooling off I think the time is perfect to make the Pumpkin Soup. I hope you will enjoy it.
Paula Deen says that no Southern Cook should ever be without their own unique version of Squash Casserole, so this week I hope you will try Kairos Squash Kasserole and let me know what you think. I made my Granny's Recipe, Paula's Recipe, and read through several others before coming up with this one that puts my own unique twist on this Southern Classic. I hope you like it.
Speaking of Southern cooks, a few years ago I sampled a Peach Kobbler that was so good that I almost cried. It was made by none other than our Dining Room Director, The Lovely Miss Lenora Longenecker. It was actually the inspiration for our near famous Strawberry Kobbler. It occured to me that I have never had you guys sample the delicious goodness of this Peach Kobbler, so that will be the Dessert Special this week. If you love it, tell Lenora thank you!
Last week I told you that it is my goal to ask Jesus to teach me how to trust Him completely with everything, and it has been an interesting journey so far. I actually found a scripture in the book of Isaiah that said "in quiet trust and confidence you will find your strength..." (Sorry, I'm not sure what the address is but it's in Isaiah)
It was funny the way that God used that to show me myself. That is what the scriptures are really for, to show us ourselves. The Apostle James described the Word of God as a mirror...it shows us where we are, and sometimes that hurts. Too many times we take the scriptures and try to use them as a weapon against other folks, but God designed His Word to change us... it's interesting what I can find out when I get my focus off of everybody else and just simply look in the mirror...
I have always said I have Faith and that I Trust God, but I am rarely ever quiet about it! I actually spend alot of my alone time with God fussing and complaining to Him about the things I think need to change. This week I have on purpose decided to be still, be quiet, trust Him, and know that He is God and I am not.
The Results? Amazing. I could write about it all day. Let's just say that the things in front of me that looked like huge mountains have been brought to nothing in a matter of days. Amazing Grace Indeed.
There is a Band that I love called Maroon 5. They just came out with a new CD and the lyrics on one song have really been meaningful to me this week. In this song, he is actually talking about his relationship with a woman, but it made me think of my relationship with Jesus.
I have been searching for your touch
Unlike any touch I've ever known
And I never thought about you much
Til I'm broken down and all alone...
Though I don't understand the meaning of love
I do not mind if I die trying,
I Took it for granted when you lifted me up
I'm asking for your help
I am going through hell
Afraid nothing can save me but the sound of your voice
You cut out all the noise
And now that I can see mistakes so clearly now...
May we all be a people who will search after God's purpose for our lives as if we are searching for a buried treasure chest! And as we do this, may we never forget to keep the mirror focused on ourselves...
God Bless You and have a wonderful week!

"... Those who hear and don't act are like those who glance in the mirror, walk away, and two minutes later have no idea who they are, what they look like. But whoever catches a glimpse of the revealed counsel of God—the free life!—even out of the corner of his eye, and sticks with it, is no distracted scatterbrain but a man or woman of action. That person will find delight and affirmation in the action..." James 1:22-25 (THE MESSAGE)
