What's Up Guys,
It has been another great week here at Kairos! Thank You so much for supporting us and making us a good success!!
As we are growing, we have to add staff, so I hope that you will welcome the new faces you see in here. This was Dorothy's first week, and she did a super job, and I want you all to welcome our new Hostess/Cashier, Katrina. There are a few changes that we did to the menu as well, which will start on Monday.
I had to change up the Express menu a little. Instead of doing two "small" sides, we changed it to one regular side. It will help cut out alot of confusion in the kitchen, and also it will be a better amount of food for the price. I just wanted to let you guys know ahead of time so that you're not taken by surprise.
The Special this week is the ever popular Cheesy Chicken Baked Ziti...it has become our #1 selling Pasta Dish. The Fish is Fresh Salmon with strawberry honey glaze...always a winner!! I'm having fun making Alfredo based sauces for the pasta, so this week I'm doing a Bacon Alfredo for the Ziti... I can't wait to have some for myself!! What could be better together than Creamy Alfredo Sauce and Savory Bacon??
The soup is a 15 bean soup with sausage, celery, and onions in a very flavorful broth... and for those of you who rave about our Squash Kasserole, that is the Veggie. Granny's Grape Salad is the fruit this week, and if you'd like, you can click on the link at the bottom and watch me make it with Janice Rogers on Fox 6.
The T.G.I.H. Special is my favorite salad at this moment, the Salmon Salad. There is also a link to watch me make that as well if you are interested.
The Dessert Special is our Luscious Lemon Cake that got so many rave reviews it was overwhelming. This cake is the best selling cake I've ever made, and I've had a ton of requests, so I hope you all take advantage of it this week.
While I was Taping at Fox 6 the other morning, I met some ladies from some media company that were taping after us. I was just casually asking them what they were making (they had a ton of dishes and what not) and they were admiring my Salmon Salad, and the lady said that they published Paula Deen's Cooking Magazines.
I was excited so I asked her the question "Is Paula Deen The Queen of Southern Cuisine?"
"She certainly is!!" The lady replied.
"Well, you tell Paula that every Queen needs a King, and one of these days I intend to be her King!"
The ladies laughed, and we talked a bit until I found out that they also publish cookbooks. I gave her a card and told her I was working on a Cookbook. It felt like one of those special "Kairos" moments when you know that you are in the right place at the right time, and you know that it is God's Favor that got you there!
Paula Deen is one of my culinary heroes, and I would love to challenge her to a Fried Green Tomato & Lemon Pie Throwdown!!
As we left there the scripture came to my mind... "Do not despise these small beginnings..." and I was very humbled to think of where God has taken me, both in my personal life and here at Kairos...He's brought me from a mighty long way, as the old folks used to say...
Thank You for being part of that!! God Bless You and have a wonderful week!!!
